This IS NOT intended to be a be-all, and end-all mega guide on building muscle.

Think of it as a quick start guide to hit the ground running, so to speak. This guide lays the foundation, and you will only grow from there.

There are many benefits to building muscle. Muscle tissue is active tissue that burns calories even when you’re at rest, so the more muscle you have, the higher your resting metabolic rate will be.

This can help you lose weight and keep it off, as well as reduce your risk of developing obesity-related chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes.

Weight training has been shown to improve blood sugar levels, which is especially important for diabetics and pre-diabetics.

In addition to helping with weight loss, building muscle also helps improve your body composition by reducing body fat and increasing lean muscle mass. This can improve your appearance and self-esteem, and it can also lead to better health overall.
